BIG SKY CONFERENCE

ARMINGTON, Utah – The Big Sky Conference announced the results of the Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll today. The Vandal men were selected to finish third, while the women were picked sixth.

Northern Arizona was picked to win the conference on both the men’s and women’s sides. The men garnered all 11 first place votes and 121 points. Montana State was selected second with 102 points, while the Vandals received 84 points to be picked third.

Meanwhile, the Northern Arizona women received eight first place votes and 117 points, while Sacramento State (100 points) garnered two first place votes, and Weber State (91 points) received the final first place vote. Idaho State and Montana State were picked fourth and fifth, respectively, to slot in in front of Idaho, who received 69 points.

The Vandal men took fourth place at last year’s Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Championship, while the women were fifth. Both teams finishes and point totals were the best for the Vandals since Idaho rejoined the Big Sky Conference.

Both sides return a large group of scorers from last year’s Championship, including Kelsey Swenson who was named Freshman of the Year on the women’s side.

The Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Championships is scheduled for February 20-21 in Bozeman, Montana.
